Services Overview
The Graduate Counseling Team at Due West provides high-end admissions support services for students interested in producing their strongest applications to US graduate institutions. Our goal is to guide students through quality conversation and exercises in order to articulate viable educational and career goals and to match them with perfect fit programs at target universities. Each student is expertly guided by the Graduate Team and Due West Council Members, who tailor their advice based on many years of experience at top American universities as admissions officers, educators, and academics. Through our developed curriculum, students will be better prepared to thoroughly and ethically complete all aspects of the graduate application process as a highly competitive candidate. Our collaborative approach to graduate applications cultivates high-level thinking and excellent application completion. There are multiple routes that students can take toward that goal: Head Start, Graduate Application Packages, and MBA Application Packages.

The Head Start program is reserved for students who are ahead of the game in their application process for graduate school: currently enrolled undergraduate students or young professionals planning ahead for an MBA program. This program is geared to develop working drafts of common application materials, including a resume and essays. Also, there is a focus on the student’s English language development to improve as necessary in speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Additional recommendations on extracurricular activities, internship opportunities and summer programs, and course selection needed to develop into a strong candidate for graduate school are incorporated into the program. Further preparation is added to support each student’s development into a stronger graduate school candidate, such as interview skills and successful study habits. Head Start students can select a varied number of one-on-one sessions with a graduate counselor, and the program is individually tailored to fit the student’s background and educational goals.

The Graduate Application Package program is for students ready to begin, compile, and submit applications to US graduate schools. Through systematic research, goal setting, and identifying application requirements, the student is guided through the process of applying to each chosen school and program. Due West provides support with the development and refinement of resumes, personal statements, essays, and online application forms. Interview preparation is introduced based on program requirements. Package students have consistent contact with a graduate counselor in planned sessions that cover the entire admissions process from application development to submission and, ultimately, to enrollment in a graduate degree program.

MBA applications require intense reflection on motivations for the degree and post-MBA career goals, which is assessed through multiple essays and a challenging interview process aimed at identifying the approximately 10% of applicants who will receive offers. Students will need to prepare for the business world through experiences gained in internships and additional work experience. These applications typically have very early deadlines, and students will be required to complete all tasks along with their counselor in a fast-paced environment.

Applicants can choose from an array of a la carte services and have the full support of the Graduate Counseling Team in any area where they want to increase their competitive edge.
